Keep Going
This is a story from one of our beloved community members, Brittany P.
“I survived a brutally violent rape at sixteen, after being drugged with the date rape drug. I woke
up in the middle of it, paralyzed. One of the guys that was watching laughed at me when I
opened my eyes and told me it was a dream. I woke up the next morning, [finally] able to move
my body and squeezed myself out a window to escape, bloody and [with my] clothes torn, while
they were distracted in another room. It took a long time to physically recover and continues to
affect every part of my life. No one believed me. It’s insane how the justice system could do
nothing for the most heinous crime. I had my mother pick me up off the street after borrowing a
person’s cell phone and was too in shock to explain what had happened to me in time to get
evidence from my body at the hospital. . .”
“I’m so glad you are doing what you’re doing, Randi. Keep going.”
Brittany, thank you for sharing your story with our community. We believe you are worthy of
justice and are here to help facilitate that in any way we can. Please connect with us for resources
as soon as you are ready.
